t3Notes.txt Bikle -------------- The T3 is a storage array sold by Sun.com. They talk about it here: http://www.sun.com/storage/t3wg/ Some notes I took while watching a T3 guru. Obtain the T3 MAC address Add it to /etc/ethers Add corresponding entry in /etc/hosts powercycle the T3 wait 5 or 10 min telnet into the new T3 ip address Some commands I witnessed: vol add dan1 data u1d1-8 raid 5 standby u1d9 vol stat vol init dan1 fast vol init dan1 data (this is slower but "better") vol mount dan1 Next, he ran a fiber cable from the T3 to a Sun box. On the sun box he typed ... devfsadm and then format and we saw the T3 as a single device. Later, we looked at another T3. A screen dump from that session is displayed below: xyzt3-b:/:<13>vol stat v1 u1d1 u1d2 u1d3 u1d4 u1d5 u1d6 u1d7 u1d8 u1d9 mounted 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 v2 u2d1 u2d2 u2d3 u2d4 u2d5 u2d6 u2d7 u2d8 u2d9 mounted 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 xyzt3-b:/:<14>vol list volume capacity raid data standby v1 585.5 GB 5 u1d1-9 none v2 0.0 GB 5 u2d1-9 none xyzt3-b:/:<15>vol usage: vol list [] vol stat [] vol mode [] vol add data raid <0 | 1 | 5> [standby ] vol init [rate <1-16>] vol mount vol unmount vol remove vol verify [fix] [rate <1-8>] vol recon [to_standby | from_standby] vol disable [to_standby] xyzt3-b:/:<16>vol unmount v2 xyzt3-b:/:<17>vol stat v1 u1d1 u1d2 u1d3 u1d4 u1d5 u1d6 u1d7 u1d8 u1d9 mounted 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 v2 u2d1 u2d2 u2d3 u2d4 u2d5 u2d6 u2d7 u2d8 u2d9 unmounted 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 xyzt3-b:/:<18>vol remove v2 xyzt3-b:/:<19>vol stat v1 u1d1 u1d2 u1d3 u1d4 u1d5 u1d6 u1d7 u1d8 u1d9 mounted 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 xyzt3-b:/:<20> Here is a screen dump from another T3 which I configured: jsbikle # telnet xyzt3-d Trying 129.7.8.94...
