Bill,

8i has a feature that allows you to attach a WHERE clause to an export.

That coupled with some DBA cleverness should allow us to
delete the uneeded data in a way which does not fill the rb segments.

I'll get to work on a script.

Our event table on the live site is exeeding about 10 million rows, it would
behoove us if we export all records in this table before July 1st into an
export file and delete them from the live database.

  Is this a simple process that could be completed before week's end?

  Also, before the release of 4.1 in December I am going to ask you to export
and drop a few tables that I don't think are being used anymore.  For 4.0 I removed
a lot of tables from the Dynamo Rview files to see if they are being used anymore,
at 4.1 if we're not getting any errors, we should be dropping these tables from the live
schema.
